This years event took place on Sunday 24th April 2005
The numbers began to grow very quickly and the roads around Hall Green School in West Bromwich slowly began to turn into a sea of red and white. The neighbours along the route once again got into the spirit by decorating houses, garages and gardens with the flag of St George.
As the Patriotic songs began to start the crowd joined in with the singing before Carl Chinn introduced our special Special Guests.
(Many thanks to Bob Taylor and Young Mutley)
As Land of Hope & Glory finished, St George on his white horse took the 10,000 strong crowd forwards for the one hour walk to Dartmouth Park.
Many, many organisations attended the parade, including the following
- West Midlands Fire Service Band.
- Beeches Cadets
- Corby Pipe Band
- Bagpipe and Drum Band
- Territorial Army
- Sea Cadets
- Air Training Corps
- Army Cadets
- Scouts
As the numbers grew along the the parade more houses along the route displayed the flag with pride as the sun shone onto us all. Eventually the 10,000 Patriots arrived at exactly 11:45am to be led into the Park by our very brave and noble veterans.
Upon arrival at the Park the following was on offer to entertain an even bigger crowd,
- Radio WM Road Show, (including Carl Chinn presenting his show live from the Park)
